To create a digital version of this hugely successful resource that includes all the most effective elements of the original, capitalising on the interactive potential of a digital app.
These self management tools are the core of the booklet. To maximise the potential of a digital experience I commissioned and art directed a live scriber David Vignolli to create a series of animated introductions for each of these. His informal style was pivotal to the gentle, reassuring look and feel we were after.
To streamline the workflow of medical professionals and reduce surgery appointments, four self assessments are included in the app. These help the patient and healthcare professional to monitor progress. Working with NHS consultants I designed the user flows and created interfaces that are simple to use and precisely impart the information required for healthcare professionals.
The Diary section allows users to record day to day activity: how you are feeling, pain score 0-10, how well you slept, issues that you are finding frustrating etc. This information allows practitioners to monitor the effectiveness of medication and how a patients confidence levels were affected by their daily activities.
I wanted to keep this flow as simple as possible; the users diary entries are displayed on the first screen, tapping on the action button in the nav bar brings up a screen where the user can choose from three different types of entry using a segmented controller.
